Delivery and Launching
Our purpose built launch trailers allow delivery of our Harvesters to the waters edge and create minimal impact on surrounding landscapes.
Open Conveyor System – Accessible and Visual
Native wildlife is preserved via emergency stop and reverse conveyor systems.
Aquatic Vegetation – Compaction
Depending on vegetation type our compactor will compress 70-90 cubic meters of weed, removing excess water and therefore reducing waste station fees and frequency.
Dredging
Waterway dredging in the Aquatic Weed removal process is a longer term solution. Dredging increases depth and removes decomposed vegetation and root systems from the bottom of ponds, lakes and waterways. Increased depth hinders photosynthesis by reducing sunlight penetration.
Herbicide
Spraying of weeds is provided when necessary in conjunction with mechanical removal either by specialised attachments or hand spraying.
Waterweed – Vegetation Removal FAQ
1. Question: What happens to the weed once it is removed?
Answer: The weed can be dumped on the bank or taken to a site of your choice within your own property.
OR
Taken to a waste transfer station that accepts green waste for which you pay a fee.
2. Question: Are there any reasons why I shouldn’t just dump on site?
Answer: If there is a chance of seed dispersal back into the waterway.
OR
The weed is noxious or hazardous to the environment or animals that may have accessibility to the dump site.
3. Question: Should I just spray the weeds?
Answer: Spraying of weeds is only useful in very small dams or ponds. Spraying is best done in conjunction with mechanical removal so as to remove dead & decaying matter.
